Spices can enhance the flavor of a dish and make it taste a lot better. If you are cooking with spices you are missing out. It is an easy, quick way to add a bunch of flavor to your meals. There are so many spices out there ONIE thought we should share some new spices you maybe have not heard of yet.

Turmeric

  • Turmeric is a bright yellow spice that is commonly used in Asian foods and in the ginger family. The root of the turmeric plant is known as curcumin. Turmeric has a warm, bitter taste and is often used to flavor and color curry powders, mustards, butters, and cheeses. 

Cumin

  • Cumin is an earthy, warm spice that is commonly used in Mexican style seasonings, like chili powder and curry. It is also used in many stews, soups, and gravies, due to its earthy warm flavor. 

Sage 

  • Sage is a strong seasoning mostly used in stuffing and to season chicken and pork. Sage is found in a lot Mediterranean dishes and is part of the mint family.
